Betalbatim – The getaway of South Goa

The Betalbatim Beach, located in the South of Goa, is probably one of the most understated beaches in Goa. With its pristine sand, quiet ambience and great location it has retained its original ‘Goenkar’ identity all along. Although it lies very close to the Colva beach – the more popular destination with tourists, the beach still isn’t as crowded, and is a great location to kick back, put your feet up with a beverage, and indulge in some of the local Goan cuisine.

The beach is divvied up by the locals into two segments – Big Betalbatim beach and Sunset beach. The latter’s name while being self explanatory, the former is not far behind in its beauty during sundown. You cannot go wrong either way. For the adventurous, the beach has agencies offering water sports including fishing and snorkeling among others.

The beach also has its famous local market with its very bohemian and flea-market look and feel. Handicrafts, Souvenirs, Mementos and great local cuisine is found in abundance.

There are many hotels in south goa, near the Betalbatim beach, but none like the Coconut Grove – An Indy Resort, which is located just a stones throw away from the beach. Most hotels offer you run-of-the-mill accommodation accompanied by services of the same nature. Instead, the Coconut Grove offers ‘Villa-style’ accommodation with authentic Goan-style verandahs overlooking a lush central garden.

Dining

Primavera the elegant all day dining air-conditioned a-la-carte restaurant also has an outdoor terrace overlooking the poolside. While you lounge on the pool deck and soak up the sun let the poolside bar cool you down with exotic cocktails or appetizers.

Facilities

The Coconut Grove also offers an assortment of facilities like a large swimming pool, a banquet hall for all types of functions, a lively discotheque with a bar and open air restaurant, a cocktail bar near the pool, an exclusive wellness spa and 24/7 Concierge services.
